Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
Massage therapists may use fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms during the deep tissue massage.
You may be asked to breathe deeply as the massage therapist works on certain tense areas.

At Bai Pho, our therapists take extra care to ensure our pregnancy massage clients are comfortable. Sideline positioning with supportive, soft cushions is used to alleviate the extra strain on the lower back and pelvic areas when the pressure of massage techniques are applied. Extra strain in these areas can cause unnecessary back or abdominal pain, so naturally we want to avoid any potential discomfort.
Balinese massage is a full-body, holistic treatment. Balinese massage uses a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure, reflexology, and aromatherapy to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and “qi” (energy) around your body, and bring a sense of wellbeing, calm and deep relaxation.
Balinese massage uses long flowing strokes, for a more relaxing style massaeg, as well as a variety of techniques including skin rolling, kneading and stroking, and pressure-point stimulation, combined with the aromas of essential oils.

Thai Traditional massage looks like a cross between acupressure, yoga, and zen shiatsu and is inspired by Buddhist teachings. Energising and revitalising this style involves stretching and deep massage. The traditional style uses no aroma oils.

Thai foot massage or Reflexology is a wonderful relaxing therapy method, it is known to clear energy lines. It uses hands and a stick to stimulate the reflex points on the feet which focuses on the internal organs of the body.
Heated smooth blue stones are placed on key points of your body to draw and warm muscles for better circulation. The stones are used with warm oils to massage and relax the body.
The massage therapist begins by applying oil to the body, which allows the hot stones to glide smoothly along the muscles. You are lying face down, and the massage therapist then uses the hot stones to massage the back.
After the hot stones have relaxed the muscles, the massage therapist may put down the stones and use his or her hands to directly massage the skin.
The hot stones will then be placed back on to the body and left for a short period of time.
You are then asked to turn over onto your back. The massage therapist places hot stones in the palm of your hand and repeats the sequence.
Yoga Massage is a combination massage starting with Thai Massage style stretching and Yoga, followed by an aroma oil massage, relieving stress and muscle tension. Using a choice of essential oils, these can be calming or invigorating.
Combining traditional Thai style and yoga stretching treatment followed by a warm oil massage to help relax and reinvigorate.

You then end with a standard massage of your choice. You have the body scrub first because it is stimulating, whereas the massage calms you down.
